Halálukból egy kis maréknyi föld születik, melyből friss virágok bomlanak, szép zöld pázsit fent az ég és a föld között, ott virítanak a hatalmas sziklaormokon. Szélben lengő kis zöld pamacs, naiv remény, mely minden évben a tél markában visszahull a földbe, melyből léte vétetett, s melyet ellobbant létével gyarapít. Álltam és némán csodáltam azt a nyugodt, türelmes jóságot, mellyel e hatalmas szikla dajkálja az életet. Megértettem, hogy itt minden kis születés türelemből és halálból fakadt. Ki tudná megmondani, hogy hány ezer év és mennyi születés, pusztulás van egy kis fenyő sziklák közé ékelt tövét ölelő, porló földben? Előttem a hatalmas sziklabérc! Mennyi türelem, kitartás, széltől, lecsorgó esővíztől megvédett humusz kell egy kis erdőfolthoz, mely üde, zöld színével, mint egy palást hálásan borítja az oltárkő lankás vállait! Alázattal nézem a sziklán az erdőt, mint zarándok a mestert! A rohanó, kapkodó világban nyugodt helytállást szeretnék tanulni e hatalmas fával borított sziklabérctől! Megtanulni a ragyogó napsütésben, a fagyos hóesésben béketűréssel hordani az életet, befogadni a cseppnyi gyermekeket és dolgozni, hogy a szorgos évek szálfa sudár ifjakat formáljanak belőlük, hinni, hogy megtelepedve majd gyökeret eresztenek a lassan szülőfölddé nemesülő létemben. Jó dolog nézni a sziklát és a rajta ég felé törő sokszínű életet! A lépték lehet, hogy más, de a lényeg ugyanaz, s ez engem végtelen nyugalommal tölt el, jól van ez így! Évezredek peregnek, generációk jönnek-mennek, és a kopár sziklafal otthonná válik. Nézem az Oltárkőt, és hiszem, hogy Isten országa általam, belőlem is épül! Boldog vagyok, mert itthon maradtam, és létemmel e kis világ parányit gazdagodik! Nincs miért kapkodnom, hisz egyetlen dolgom van, csendben befogadni és hordozni szelíden az életet, míg vissza nem adhatom testemet az anyaföldnek, lelkemet a Teremtőnek!
