  1. Artist: Keb' Mo' Title: Keep It Simple Year Of Release: 2004 Label: Epic/Okeh Genre: Blues, Rock Quality: FLAC (tracks) / FLAC (tracks) 24bit/44.1kHz Total Time: 00:47:17 Total Size: 282.3 MB / 520,43 MB Tracklist: [2:52] 01. Keb' Mo' - I'm Amazing [3:46] 12. Keb' Mo' - Proving You Wrong AllMusic Review by Steve Leggett Keb' Mo' is less a blues singer than a performer who works from that conceptual base, not in the way Taj Mahal does, knowingly carrying a tradition forward, half teacher and wise elder, but more as a populist, the James Taylor of blues, say, or a less recalcitrant J.J. Cale. To criticize him for not being Skip James or Robert Johnson sort of misses the point of what Keb' Mo' is shooting for, and like Bonnie Raitt discovered, bringing a modern pop-blues to a wide audience sure beats playing authentic for purists. Either path is as fake or as real as the other in a post-postmodern age where the blues creaks along as a single DNA strand in a world of rap, metal, and neo-soul. All of which makes the blues a strange career path to use to get straight out of Compton, yet that's exactly what Keb' Mo' has done, rising out of one of toughest urban landscapes in the world by covering Robert Johnson songs on his National steel guitar. So enough about whether he's a real bluesman or not, because in the end he has to put supper on the table, and he does it by crafting a warm, wry, blues-informed version of pop Americana that wrestles with contemporary problems like how to pay the mortgage, the high price of coffee, or how to afford a vacation in France. "France," the lead track on Keep It Simple, pretty much states the case with the lines "Wake up Mama/Don't you fret/I found two cheap tickets/On the Internet," which Keb' Mo' sings in a honey-tinged voice over a patented and tasteful blues shuffle. Later, in "House in California," he sings, "Better have good money/If you're looking for a house/In California," and again, he uses a shuffle to hang the news on, looking no further into the past than necessary to put the song across. Keb' Mo' is a solid guitar player, and is a master of the easy, nuanced vocal, and he makes like Denzel Washington on this album, commenting on the little problems and travails of contemporary life with a winning grin and an assured stance that you can't help but like. Is this a great album? No, just a good one, all of a piece with his earlier work, and his debut release, simply called Keb' Mo', is still probably your best bet for a first purchase. That's the album the critics like best because it stays closest to the Delta definition of the blues, and it is a good album, but Keb' Mo' didn't trade Compton for the Delta just to stay there. He's looking for a house in California and a plane ticket to France. Aren't we all? That's the blues, folks. Download links: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]

  7. Artist: Duke Ellington And His Orchestra Title: The Symphonic Ellington Year Of Release: 1963 / 2011 Label: Rhino / Warner Records Genre: Jazz Quality: FLAC (tracks) [192kHz/24bit] Total Time: 41:51 Total Size: 1.56 GB Tracklist: 1. Night Creature (First Movement): Blind Bug 2. Night Creature (Second Movement): Stalking Monster 3. Night Creature (Third Movement): Dazzling Creature 4. Non-Violent Integration 5. La Scala, She Too Pretty to Be Blue 6. Harlem In 1963 Duke Ellington realized a longtime goal, to record some of his extended works using both a symphony orchestra and his regular big band. Included on this fine CD are the three movements of "Night Creature," the relatively brief "Non-Violent Integration," "La Scala," and an adaptation of Ellington's "Harlem Air Shaft." With most of his all-star soloists heard from in this program and a complete avoidance of trying to make his music sound so-called "respectable" or self-consciously third stream, Ellington's arrangements keep the strings from weighing down the proceedings and the music is actually quite successful. ~ Scott Yanow Download links: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  8. Artist: Emil Gilels, George Szell Title: Beethoven: 5 Piano Concertos Year Of Release: 1968 [2015] Label: Tower Records [TDSA-08~10] Genre: Classical Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) | FLAC (24bit/88,2 kHz) Total Time: 02:55:01 Total Size: 4,81 GB / 2,97 GB (+3%rec.) Supreme performance of Gilerith & Cell, which has been highly acclaimed. New mastering digs deeper into the masterpiece! Includes all five Beethoven Piano Concertos recorded in 1968 by Gillerith on his later Cell and Cleveland tube and former EMI label. It is a masterpiece that has been highly evaluated so far. It is a sound source that has been supported since its release as a wonderful performance that combines knowledge, emotion, and skill at the highest level. For this reprint, a new mastering was performed separately for the SACD layer and the CD layer using a master that was digitized at 96 kHz / 24 bit from the master tape in the home country. The Beethoven between Gilleris and Cell is a sound source that was recorded at a stretch at Severance Hall, home of the Cleveland tube in 1968, and is not a sound source that has been reproduced many times on CDs. The excellence of the performance surpasses the old version with several Gilerith, and it is one of the most outstanding ones among the same performances. The old EMI label made some recordings with the Cell & Cleveland tube at this time. These are still noteworthy sources, as they are the last recordings of the cell, but it's true that recordings have not been evaluated very well until now. In order to reproduce the finish of the recording that does not spoil the splendor of the performance, in this reprint, a piano with a sense of realism along with a clearer sound field, and the excellentness of the back due to the open field of view stand out, more music The whole sound became visible. You will be able to rediscover this masterpiece by seeing how the Cell & Cleveland tube was so excellent and the direction of the cell. I think you can find many more reasons to be a great board. ~Google Interpreter Tracks: Disc: 1 1. Piano Concerto No.1 in C Op.15: I. Allegro con brio 2. Piano Concerto No.1 in C Op.15: II. Largo 3. Blues, Why Don't You Let Me Alone 25. Blue Rag In 12 Keys 26. Memories of You Recorded in 1968 and 1969, this record is by far the best way to get to know, love, and appreciate Eubie Blake, master of ragtime and gorgeous melodies. The taproot of jazz runs directly from Blake's generation up through all of those Eastern Seaboard ticklers, most significantly James P. Johnson and the school of what critics and historians have labeled Harlem stride piano. While his early historical recordings are wonderfully authentic, there exists no finer example of Eubie Blake on record than this double LP, covered with photos and informative liner notes and packed with Blake's incredibly dexterous performances. During his comeback as an aged wonder, there was a tendency for the public to regard him as little more than an entertaining curiosity. This attitude allowed for a superficial comprehension of Blake's background and served to trivialize his accomplished position in the evolution of 20th century music. 86 Years solves all of these problems. The first half of the program consists of rags. Blake plays them joyously, sometimes shouting and bursting into laughter as his hands work the keys. Eleven of these pieces are Blake originals, and on one or two occasions he prefaces the music with a story describing the circumstances under which the piece was composed. There's one by Joplin and two by John Philip Sousa, making for a strikingly accurate invocation of the musical scene within which Blake operated at the beginning of the 20th century. A portion of the album is specifically dedicated to theater music, and for most of these tunes Blake's old partner Noble Sissle is heard singing and chatting with the pianist. Whoever was responsible for recording these two elderly gentlemen and sharing the results with the public really did the world a great favor. Hearing them sing "If You've Never Been Vamped By a Brownskin, You've Never Been Vamped at All" is a rare treat. Finally, there are Blake's most harmonically advanced moments: a medley of James P. Johnson melodies, a stunning realization of Luckey Roberts' "Spanish Venus," and Blake's own masterpieces, unforgettably rendered: "Dixie Moon," "Blues, Why Don't You Let Me Alone," "Blue Rag in 12 Keys," and the lovely "Memories of You." This is Blake at his ancient best. Download links: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]

  12. Artist: Andrew Lloyd Webber Title: Highlights from Cats Year Of Release: 1989 [2016] Label: Universal Music Genre: Soundtrack Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) / 2.0 > 1-bit/2.8224 MHz Total Time: 00:57:41 Total Size: 1,6 GB (+3%rec.) London's and the world's longest-running musical still fills seats in a dozen theaters worldwide. Uncountable recastings and reorchestrations later, Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats strives to please the ears of ever-new generations. This is the original cast recording, and it retains a freshness from the still-recent opening, its novelty untarnished by decades of success. Also, the abundance of "names"--both singers and musicians--makes this one of the high-class musical recordings of all time. Elaine Paige rose to stardom as Grizabella with the hit "Memory"; at the time, though, bigger names were Wayne Sleep, Paul Nicholas, and Brian Blessed. Sarah Brightman and Bonnie Langford are also on the cast list. Lloyd Webber himself plays keyboards and the impressive roster of session musicians includes Barbara Thompson and David Locke. Lloyd Webber, well versed in the practice of "auto-quotation," can always look back to this work for cat-chy material: the Overture, "Old Gumbie Cat," "Rum Tum Tugger," and "Mr. Mistoffelees"--the list of good tunes and themes goes on and on. This remains a fun listening experience, even for those few who still haven't caught the show. Tracks: 01. Prologue: Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats 02. Solo Dance 03. The Old Gumbie Cat 04. 13. Artist: Foreigner Title: Agent Provocateur Year Of Release: 2013 Label: Rhino Atlantic Genre: Rock Quality: FLAC (tracks) 24/192 Total Time: 41:55 Total Size: 1.55 GB Tracklist: 1 Tooth And Nail 3:55 2 That Was Yesterday 3:49 3 I Want To Know What Love Is 5:00 4 Growing Up The Hard Way 4:13 5 Reaction To Action 3:32 6 Stranger In My Own House 5:05 7 A Love In Vain 4:31 8 Down On Love 4:09 9 Two Different Worlds 4:31 10 She's Too Tough 3:10 It took Foreigner three years to release a follow-up to its 1981 blockbuster, 4. Perhaps that wait wasn't long enough, because Agent Provocateur is a prime example of the best and worst traits of AOR: a handful of remarkable songs padded by toothless filler. Despite contributing a few killer riffs to Foreigner's '70s canon, guitarist/keyboardist Mick Jones isn't known for his six-string abilities. His biggest strength is his knack for melody as a songwriter, keyboardist, and producer, and all these qualities are evident on Agent Provocateur. Of course, vocalist/songwriter Lou Gramm is indispensable as the band's golden-throated frontman. Jones largely guided things behind the studio console, but a co-producer usually helped, such as Alex Sadkin on this album. "I Want to Know What Love Is" became Foreigner's first and only number one single, and it's not hard to see why. Its dreamy, hypnotic feel is due in part to Gramm's soulful lead vocals and the New Jersey Mass Choir's background vocals. Jennifer Holliday and the Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey help out as well. "That Was Yesterday," a terrific hit single, features a catchy chorus and a nifty synthesizer lick. "Reaction to Action" and "Down on Love" were both minor hits, but there's a huge difference in quality between the two; the former is the epitome of bland, formulaic AOR, while the latter includes a pleasant chorus and a warm keyboard melody. "A Love in Vain" and "Growing Up the Hard Way" have a few good moments too. Download links: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  14. Artist: Foreigner Title: Foreigner Year Of Release: 1977 Label: US - MFSL - UDSACD 2050 Genre: Rock, Hard Rock Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) / 2.0, 5.1 (2,8 MHz/1 Bit) Total Time: 39:31 Total Size: 1.59 GB Foreigner is the self-titled debut studio album by rock band Foreigner, released in 1977. Although punk rock's furious revolution threatened to overthrow rock's old guard in 1977, bands like Foreigner came along and proved that there was plenty of room in the marketplace for both the violent, upstart minimalism of punk and the airbrushed slickness of what would be called "arena rock." Along with Boston, Journey, Heart, and others, Foreigner celebrated professionalism over raw emotion. And, looking back, it's easy to see why they sold millions; not everyone in the world was pissed off, dissatisfied with the economy, or even necessarily looking for a change. In fact, for most suburban American teens, Foreigner's immaculate rock sound was the perfect soundtrack for cruising through well-manicured neighborhoods in their Chevy Novas. The album spawned some of the biggest FM hits of 1977, including the anthemic "Feels Like the First Time" and "Cold as Ice," both of which were anchored - like most of Foreigner's songs - by the muscular but traditional riffing of guitarist Mick Jones, the soaring vocals of Lou Gramm, and the state-of-the-art rock production values of the day, which allowed the band to sound hard but polished. As pure rock craftsmanship goes, Foreigner was as good as it got in the late '70s. Tracklist: 1. Feels Like The First Time - 3:52 2. Cold As Ice - 3:24 3. Starrider - 4:03 4. Headknocker - 3:05 5. 17. Artist: Carl Schuricht Title: J. Strauss II: Waltzes and Polkas Year Of Release: 1963 [2015] Label: Tower Records [TWSA-1004] Genre: Classical Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) | FLAC (24bit/88,2 kHz) Total Time: 00:49:20 Total Size: 1,4 GB / 870 mb (+3%rec.) A long-awaited SACD with a magnificent and joyful performance by the famous combination of Schuricht and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra! A hybrid SACD of a performance that Schuricht left on a concert hall label. With SACD, you can enjoy high-quality sound very close to the master tape. In addition, the CD layer is newly remastered with DENON genuine equipment from analog master tape this time, and you can enjoy sound quality different from the conventionally released board. This CD layer is positioned as an extra to enjoy more music. As a "plus alpha", it is a limited edition that can be enjoyed by those who have a conventional CD. In this first release, a total of three titles will be released. Schuricht and Johann Strauss seem to be in conflict, and in fact they are famous. In addition to the good sensibility of the original music that is born out of a refreshing interaction with the orchestra, the attractiveness of the composition of the small pieces creates an attractive recording. In particular, "The Story of the Vienna Woods" is a famous performance. What is there is more elegance and richness of emotion and dignity, lurking in the strictness of Shuricht rather than elegance. All 8 songs are gem. Schuricht is no exception in Johann Strauss, and the rhythm is not only ambiguous but also very strict. There is no exaggeration or graceful sound in the expression, but the content of the song is sincere. Therefore it is not an exaggeration to say that it is not light music at all, but rather aims for one-dimensional higher music. During the recording session, Schuricht asked the members of the orchestra, saying, "If there is anything that deviates from the spirit of Vienna, please return to the right path" and pull out the peace, and as a result the session It is an interesting anecdote that the members did not raise any objections once in a while (detailed in the booklet). We aimed for digitalization so that the information on the analog master tape would not be lost as much as possible. ~Google Interpreter Tracks: 01. 257 00:02:59 Personnel: Carl Schuricht Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera * Limited edition * Stereo recording * SACD layer: MS 24bit Processing 192kHz-24bit remastering (192kHz / 24bit remastering in 2014 from analog master tape owned by Nippon Columbia) * CD layer: Newly remastered in 2015 with digital conversion at 44.1 kHz / 20 bit using Denon A / D converter * There are some parts that are hard to listen to, but they are on the original tape (the missing and noises in the original master are also recorded as they are). 19. Artist: Guy Mintus Trio Title: Connecting the Dots Year Of Release: 2019 Label: jazz family Genre: Jazz Quality: 24-bit/44.1kHz FLAC Total Time: 54:40 min Total Size: 566 MB Parfois, le bonheur se cache dans les choses simples. Guy Mintus Trio - Koan (6:20) 02. Guy Mintus Trio - Little Italy (5:28) 03. 21. Artist: Igor Markevitch Title: Stravinsky: Rite of Spring, Tchaikovsky: Nutcracker Suite Year Of Release: 1959 [2016] Label: Tower Records [TDSA-22] Genre: Classical Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) | FLAC (24bit/88,2 kHz) Total Time: 01:13:33 Total Size: 2,0 GB / 1,1 GB (+3%rec.) A stereo version of the old EMI recording that should be said to be a synonym of Marchevich `` Spring Festival '' The first two Tchaikovsky songs recorded at the same time as SACD. Since its first appearance, Markevich's old EMI (recorded in 1959) board, which is still very popular as a shocking "festival of spring", is the long-awaited first SACD. The bold interpretation and attention to detail are surprising to hear now. Coupling two Tchaikovsky songs with low recurrence frequency while recording at the same time. Two albums have been assembled into one. For this reprint, a new mastering was performed separately for the SACD layer and the CD layer using a 96kHz / 24bit digital master from the home country master. Speaking of Marchevich's "Spring Festival", it is not only one of the masterpieces of the song, but also one of Markevich's many recordings, which is famous for its outstanding performance. It was already talked about in the first recording with the same Philharmonia Orchestra in 1951, and this stereo version, which was re-recorded eight years later, has a shorter playing time and has become more talked about as a more condensed and elaborated recording. Was. The Spring Festival, which has a good sense of balance and good sense, but also calculates instantaneous power and emphasis, was an interpretation that no one had heard before. Of course, the effect is largely due to the stereo recording, and it can be said that it is one of the most successful recordings for the initial stereo recording of the old EMI label. At the time, the Philharmonia Orchestra had a high level of performance skills and did not degrade in terms of quality. By making SACD this time, it is an excellent recording that you can even check the atmosphere at the time. Upon recurrence, two Tchaikovsky songs were coupled. It seems that these two songs were recorded after the "Spring Festival" ended. The recording quality is almost the same, the distinctive and slow interpretation and attention to detail are alive and well. These two songs were infrequently reproduced in the CD era, so this coupling is important in that sense. In addition, these three songs will be all stereo sound sources of the Marchevich & Philharmonia Orchestra left on the former EMI label. ~Google Interpreter Tracks: 01-02. 24. Artist: Istvan Kertesz Title: Brahms: 4 Symphonies & Haydn Variations Year Of Release: 1964, 1973 [2016] Label: Tower Records [PROC-1975~77] Genre: Classical Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) | FLAC (24bit/88,2 kHz) Total Time: 03:06:15 Total Size: 5,0 GB / 2,98 GB (+3%rec.) The first ever eternal masterpiece of Celtes and the Vienna Philharmonic becomes SACD! Reproduction of the DECCA recording of analog recording at its best using the home country master. An immortal masterpiece, including the "Haydn Variations" with the Vienna Philharmonic, that could not be completed by Kertesz, will be released on the SACD hybrid. On April 16, 1973, Celtes died while swimming in Tel Aviv. The second re-recording did not come true either. The second recording in '64 was the sixth session on the DECCA label for Kertesz and the Vienna Philharmonic. It is a fulfilling performance that can not be thought of as co-starring with the conductor and the Vienna Philharmonic. Then, in '72, we started recording as a complete collection from No. 4, but about a year later he died at the age of 45. These recordings are the highest performances that have been heard for a long time as one of the representative boards of Celtes from the LP era. It was released from King relatively early in the CD era, and has since recurred several times from Universal. However, the frequency of remastering was low for some reason, and because of the early digitization, it was not always possible to say that it had been sold in a state close to the original sound. This time, when we launched this series, we picked up this Kertesz board in order to revive the masterpiece buried recently in terms of sound quality to the present age. As a result, with this SACD conversion, it is now possible to hear detailed nuances that were previously buried in CDs. DECCA's recording technology at that time was very effective for the latest modern reproduction technology, and has the potential to go deeper into the truth of the famous board. Please experience innovative sound quality. In the production of this series, we used sound sources digitized with higher quality than the original analog master tape in our home country, and our dedicated engineers in our country took a long time in mastering work for this series in a detailed process. Was. The important thing about the release is that the reprinting process itself, including the digitization and mastering steps, has evolved over the last few years. Equipment related to digital technology is constantly improving, and it has become possible to produce higher quality and more delicate sound sources. Now you can enjoy the original analog master with higher sound quality. In this SACD project, it became possible to release with a wonderful sound. ~Google Interpreter Tracks: Brahms, Johannes (1833-97) : Disc 1 Symphony No.1 In C Minor, Op. 68 01. 1. 25. Artist: Jean Martinon Title: Tchaikovksy: Symphony No.6, Shostakovich: Symphony No.1 Year Of Release: 1958 [2016] Label: Tower Records [PROC-1990] Genre: Classical Quality: DSD64 image (*.iso) | FLAC (24bit/88,2 kHz) Total Time: 01:16:53 Total Size: 2,1 GB / 1,3 GB (+3%rec.) Martinonon's only co-star with VPO, the masterpiece `` pathetic '' and Shostakovich, famous for excellent recording, made the first SA-CD using the home country master! Martinon has the impression that there are many sources of Russian music like other French conductors, such as leaving the complete symphony of Prokofiev, but in other Russian works this `` pathetic '' and another accompaniment board, and Shostakovich's The fact is that we only left the album and there aren't many others. The only reason why Russian music is so special is that each album has a strong impact. "Pathetique" recorded in '57 is the only Vienna Philharmonic co-star with the DECCA label, which has had a strong influence since its release and has been heard as a masterpiece. There's Martinin's command as if he's immersed in the song rather than Russia, and the Vienna Philharmonic's performance, which can be said to be partly wild. This `` pathetic '' has more fans than at the time of release, and in a sense it is a conductor of Martinon who has a unique expression and enthusiasm enough to fuel the orchestra, so the evaluation that it is the only performance that is incomparable is still different today not. With the introduction of SA-CD, the dynamic range of the performance is expanded, and you can also listen to the attractive sounds of each instrument. Please listen to the famous performance that can be said that there is no "pathetic" alternative to this. Coupling Shostakovich is famous as an excellent recording while recording in '58. This is not only a hot, bloody performance, but you can also listen to Martinon's meticulous composition with a certain orchestral skill. With this high-quality digitization, we were able to reproduce more realistic sound images, sound fields, and the sound of each cored instrument. You can enjoy overwhelming sound quality. In the production of this series, we used sound sources digitized with higher quality than the original analog master tape in our home country, and our dedicated engineers in our country took a long time in mastering work for this series in a detailed process.
